My cat has been treated at this vet now for a few years and there are some vets which I feel are very competent here. However, there are aspects to the practice which are less than desirable. I have a senior cat who has had a number of health issues over the years all of which I know inside out. He has previously had a feeding tube which I had to administer and change, he has diabetes which I administer insulin for and he has arthritis. A few years ago I started him on solensia and the vet at the time which was nearer to where I lived allowed me to administer this at home. I then switched vets and Dundas asked me to bring him for this monthly injection. I explained I had given it before and felt comfortable and that my cat gets highly stressed going to the vet so I would prefer if we could administer at home. Dundas said I could not do this and so I engaged a mobile vet to come to my home who oversaw my administering it and gave me a prescription for 3 refills. This equates to 6 injections which I gave with no issue. The mobile vet however wanted to do a revisit with a vet which is about £110. They suggested as my own vet at Dundas saw my cat recently that I ask them if they could give me a prescription. Dundas refused again citing that it isn’t best practice – which suggests they must believe they are superior to other just as qualified practices who had no issue. It also blithely ignores that I have had no issue giving the injection. They then cited the risk of Anaphylaxis shock due to self injection. Quite frankly it should my choice if I think that is a risk for me. A waiver would be signed it that was a huge issue. The bottom line to me is that the practice wants the money they would charge for me to come in for 5 minutes to have a vet inject the solensia. To me their actions are disingenuous in this instance and it has become increasingly apparent that the veterinary world in general is largely unregulated with costs and often put their bottom line first. The reasoning in this instance was quite simply ridiculous. Of course their reaction was to say I could take my pet elsewhere because I question their competence. It would seem to me they just didn’t like being challenged and that smacks of self serving behaviour as opposed to putting the animal first. Not impressed.

We've had consistently good experiences with this practice. The team is excellent with both dogs and cats, handling them calmly and kindly, which makes a real difference for the animals and their owners. The main drawback is cost. Prices are on the high side, and fees can add up quickly with check-ups and treatment. That said, the quality of care has always been high, and we've never felt our pets were anything less than well looked after. I'd recommend them for the standard of care, but it's worth asking about costs upfront so there are no surprises.

Only looking at the money and leaving inexperienced staff to advise treatments over the phone. Owners not willing to take responsibility and again advise over the phone without seeing and letting symptoms lady without following basic vetinary practice policy.

Very helpful and polite staff. When you ask questions to the vets they are sure to give you all the information you need and ask for. The receptionist have always been pleasant and helpful!
